Din Meets the World's Fair at the Duffield in Brooklyn

Motion Picture Herald, April 22, 1939:



"Carrying out the theme of the World's Fair, George Stoves, Duffield Theatre, Brooklyn, constructed a trylon and perisphere of compoboard, to exploit his date on 'Gunga Din'. Inset in the sections of  the trylon were scene stills, tiein copy atop reading 'A picture as great as the World's Fair'; perisphere carried title, cast, etc. Entire display was used as street bally." 



Cezar Del Valle is the author of the Brooklyn Theatre Index, a three-volume history of borough theatres. The first two chosen 2010 OUTSTANDING BOOK OF THE YEAR by the Theatre Historical Society. Final volume published in September 2014.

Currently editing the third edition of the Brooklyn Theatre Index, Volume I.
